Applications are now being accepted. Deadline to receive applications is March 31 at 5 pm oral interviews on Wednesday, April 14, 6 – 9 pm. Applicants who successfully pass paper screening (application is complete and meet the minimum requirements for consideration as spelled out on the application form) will be scheduled for a mandatory "live" interview with QOF scholarship committee on evening of April 14.

Queen of the Festival Scholarships
Queen of the Festival Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of scholarship, community service, a short, written essay and an interview with the scholarship committee. Winners will be determined by their success in supporting the festival through fundraising for the North Fair Oaks Festival Fund of Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
Five scholarships will be awarded.
- The Queen will receive a $5,000 scholarship.
- One princess will receive a $2,500 scholarship.
- One princess will receive a $2,500 scholarship.
- One finalist will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
- One finalist will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Background
The North Fair Oaks Community Festival is a day-long event on August 22, 2010. The scholarships are awarded by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office from the proceeds of the North Fair Oaks Community Festival. All proceeds support the Sheriff's Office in providing county youth with year-round, school-based programs such as DARE, Sheriff’s Activities League, Explorer Posts and STAR camp.
This is the fourth year that the Queen of the Festival Scholarship program is being offered. The purpose of the scholarship is to promote the festival, support the Sheriff’s youth programs and to honor local girls that have demonstrated commitment to serving their community.
